• 1" PEI Dome Tweeter - The M1-8 speakers have a 1" PEI dome tweeter which is larger than the .75" tweeter that comes on the 7.7" JL Audio M3. • 150W RMS Power Handling - With 150W RMS power handling, the M1 8" speakers can handle more power than most marine amplifiers deliver. The more power you can send to your speakers, the louder they will play and the better they will sound. Compared to the JL Audio M3 7.7", the Rockford Fosgate M1 has double the RMS power handling. You can turn the gains up all the way without worrying about overpowering these speakers. Just make sure you aren't sending a clipped signal because that is the easiest and fastest way to blow your speakers.
• Super Efficient - Although the M1-8 can handle 150 watts, these speakers are incredibly efficient, they still perform, and they sound great with as little as 50 watts of power. We spoke with the head of Rockford's OEM marine division and they power these speakers with the M2-300X4, the least expensive 4 channel marine amp from Rockford, and these speakers still sound incredible.
• Color Optix RGB LEDs - Wiring the RGB LEDs in your marine speakers can be a headache, but not with Rockford Fosgate's Color Optix RGB LEDs. The PMX-RGB and the Color Optix cables (both sold separately) are designed to be plug and play. Plug one end of the cable into the RGB LED controller and the other end of the cable into the speaker. No cutting, twisting, crimping, soldering, or heat shrinking required. The Color Optix RGB LEDs save you time and a headache.
